Blockchain-powered future of record keeping and ownership transfer company has announced it has hired blockchain real estate thought leader Avi Spielman to its advisory board.

Wilmington, Delaware, USA — December 15, 2016 — Ubitquity LLC, a company offering a simple user experience for securely recording, tracking, and transferring deeds on the blockchain, is pleased to announce it has brought on Avi Spielman, President of Joon Properties and an alumnus of the MIT Center for Real Estate (‘16), to its growing advisory board.

Ubitquity is providing an original record of recording data on its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. This provides users and customers the ability to add data to the system so complete history of ownership and search can always be traced using the immutability of the blockchain.
“There’s been a lot of discussion around real estate and blockchain” added Spielman, “but since I started researching this field, Ubitquity has been one of the few companies taking action to make blockchain and real estate a reality. I’ve enjoyed working with Nathan and his team over the past year, witnessing them perform the first real estate transaction ever recorded on the blockchain, and look forward to furthering our beliefs together.
Ubitquity is currently working with real estate and title professionals, along with land registry/data management, modular home companies who are piloting and providing guidance and feedback. Ubitquity is also in contact title insurance companies, academia, and state representatives within the United States to discuss piloting their new Software as a Service based blockchain platform.

Avi Spielman is founder and president of Joon Properties, a Nashville-based boutique real estate development company. He is also an active angel advisor, working with start-ups in blockchain, angel investing, and curated events. He currently serves as associate editor of the Harvard Real Estate Review, vice-president of MIT AACRE, and board member of Vanderbilt Hillel. His thesis, “Blockchain: Digitally Rebuilding the Real Estate Industry” won the prestigious Govan Entrepreneurship Award from the MIT Center for Real Estate. Avi holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University and a Masters of Science in Real Estate Development from MIT.
